The first step is to motivate yourself to make a change and maintain this powerful emotional state in a way that allows you to live your life to the fullest. Just consider that our emotional state influences everything we do. If we cannot generate a state of passion and motivation, it will take a lot of effort to achieve anything. Wanting to move forward in our life without motivation is as good as trying to accelerate a car with the handbrake on.
Motivated people have developed a “can do” attitude, which allows them to accomplish supposedly impossible achievements, which other people do not even dare to dream about. Someone may have nothing or have lost everything but if he manages to motivate himself, he will do whatever it takes to move forward, even in times of crisis. On the other hand, someone who is not motivated will not be happy even if they have everything. The most important resources we need in this case are emotional resources. These are the fuel of life, and motivation is a mental muscle that can be trained and strengthened.
Once you have the motivation, you will automatically want to move forward in your life. At this stage, the next step for you is to define the direction you want to go to. The number one reason why people do not get what they want is because they do not know what they want. For those who do not know where they are going, there are no favourable winds as clarity is power, giving us a direction where we can move. In fact, people who are not clear about what they want may have the illusion that they are moving forward but in reality they do not, in the same way that a hamster running on a wheel thinks he is moving forward but is not going anywhere.
Therefore, in this step, it’s important for us to focus on clarifying our objectives, priorities and deciding to realise them so that you commit 100% to them. When you make a decision everything around you changes. The decision with commitment makes the difference between: “I cannot do it”, “I’m going to try it; I could try” to” I’m going to make it happen. ” This last attitude is what we need here.
The previous steps must be combined with effective actions that allow you to advance in the achievement of the objectives that you have defined. Excessive planning does not produce results, action does. In this stage, we focus on massive action and eliminate all obstacles that prevent or hinder such actions: fear, limiting beliefs and other obstacles of any kind. Create a strategy so that you can reach your goals, and be able to persevere when challenges arise. When obstacles arise, in fact, most people tend to give up. This is the moment in which you will need to align the three components: staying motivated, decide what steps to take, and continue to take action.
The combination of these three dimensions will allow you not only to reach achievable objectives in a specific area of your life but also to take your life to a much broader level that will positively affect your whole productivity: from work to relationships and from money to health. It will prepare you to have another perspective and attitude towards your life. Both attitude and tools will help you to overcome any subsequent challenge that may arise with productive approach.
